2017 Brentham AGM

Last night The Brentham Club held its annual general meeting and we would like to thank the 79 members that turned up to shape the future of the club. It was an evening filled with promise as we co-opted 5 new volunteers on to a dwindling committee and saw mostly positive feedback as to the direction the club was heading in.

Although we would like to see more members, there were some encouraging trends. The football and cricket sections continue to see larger numbers and other sections seem to be holding steady. Another noticeable trend was in the growth of our junior members who now make up nearly a third of our membership. This is something we need to keep driving as they are the future of this club. As we continue to improve and market the club we hope to once again become a local hub for local people and are looking to push membership back to the highs of 2013.

With the club holding more events and becoming more versatile, we are getting new business and opportunities for the club. We have even been offered about £14000 for 4 days of filming at the club and we have had to turn away hall bookings as we’ve been so busy. The comedy, Jazz and ABBA nights have been tremendously popular and attracting new eyes to a fantastic facility as well as providing a new revenue stream.

This being said there is a much more potential for growth but in order to succeed we need your help. The club is run by volunteers and we need our members to step up and help us move into the future. With more of you on board we can hopefully take bigger strides in becoming the club we know Brentham can be.

Couldn’t make it to the AGM, want to know exactly what happened? Listen to the whole AGM below and hear what questions were asked of the committee and find out about the plans going forward.
