Veterans Football

The Brentham Veterans are Managed by Dave Grose and captained By Mick Duffy. They are currently enjoying a successful season and have a full friendly fixture list which will see the Veterans playing over thirty games in the 2008/2009 season.  The season will end with a return trip to Madrid to play against a team managed by ex Veteran Fernando Ayuso during May when Brentham Veterans will be looking to remain undefeated on Spanish soil following their tour three years ago.

The star attraction for Brentham players is the pitch, recently renovated and carefully tended by the club groundsmen, and now offering one of the finest playing surfaces in the Middlesex County League. 

Brentham Veterans’ current record for the season is P16 W8 D4 L4 F62 A46.  The Veterans began the season with a victory against a young ‘open age’ team who currently top their Division in the West Middlesex league.  This set the standard for a season which has seen them beat Polytechnic Veterans for the first time in six seasons as well as recording emphatic victories against Teddington and Birkbeck College.  

Veteran veterans Chris Firmin and Colin Matthews can still be seen parading their skills on a Sunday morning.  Brentham Veterans are always on the lookout for new ‘young’ talent, so if you are over 35 and believe you have something to offer the team on the football field, contact Mick Duffy on 0771 5253568.
